Lovely post, Luisa. Substack is the perfect place for your writing I think, with a warm and welcoming community that is mutually supportive. I started my Substack last August and post monthly at the moment and I'm slowly building a niche audience for 'Place Writing'. I decided to turn Paid on right from the beginning, to enable anyone who could afford it to support my work. I absolutely get the issue of burn-out and pressure - it's up to us to offer only what we feel comfortable with and what is reasonable to expect of ourselves. Self-preservation and care is really important to maintain a creative practice in this crazy world. I'm looking forward to reading more of your writing!
I love this! I know I gave you the original ‘but’, but ;) I also think everyone should do what they want! I’ve had similar musings myself recently. It had to feel right for you and the beauty is that you can be as flexible as you like with what you do and when. Good. For. You! Xxx
Well done for switching on paid subscriptions, I know it does not feel easy sometimes, but it is worth it! I like also how you have described what's on offer, I think I need to make mine clearer now!
I’m in, Luisa! To be honest, right now, your work feels like a lifeboat and I’m so happy to claim a seat! Good luck with it - I’m sure it’ll be a huge success. X
This is lovely Luisa, so beautifully written and resonates so much. I read and responded to your note about going paid as I’d decided not to and then ended up just going for it. This is a glorious post to your people to join you. I find myself thinking I need to have some substack free time, but keep coming back for the beautiful community and people that I find here 🌸💛
Luisa, what a glorious way of describing it, ‘gentle pivot’
Your words, as you know, have really hit a nerve with me, so the subscribe button to upgrade was a no-brainer.
I’ve actually written a piece today, after a long time away from writing publicly and I mention one of the reasons for my time off is my chronic pain condition - fibromyalgia. Synchronicity has a way of amplifying what we need to see/hear....and I very much look forward to your investment in your creative endeavours.

Your words took me on a peaceful and beautiful journey. I look forward to reading more.
I can completely understand! Lots of love xx
Would you drop me an email Luisa? claire@creativelyconscious.co.uk? With the smart notifications I don't have anyone's email to reply to anymore. 🙉
